The National African Peer Review Mechanism – Governing Council (NAPRM-GC) is an independent body established to facilitate the conduct of the APRM Country Self Assessments and the monitoring of the implementation of the National Programme of Action.

The NAPRM-GC has a mandate to coordinate and manage a non-partisan and informed assessment of the African Peer Review Mechanism in Ghana with a view to promoting good governance, and effective and efficient service delivery.

Specifically, the Council’s mandate deals with the four thematic areas of the APRM and to promote increased citizen participation in the process, as well as share the country’s APRM experience with Ghanaians, African and international institutions and organizations.

The vision

The NAPRM-GC’s vision is to be the lead institution promoting and sharing commendable practice in good governance in Ghana and on the African continent.

The Mission

The Mission of the Council shall be:
  • To assist in the promotion of democracy and good political governance
  • To assist in the promotion of sound economic governance and management
  • To assist in the entrenchment of good corporate governance in both public and private institutions
  • To assist in the promotion of equitable socio-economic development

The Council shall be guided by the following values in the execution of its mandate:
